Executive Search

Comprehensive Search. NLG works with institutions to conduct comprehensive and effective searches that yield successful candidates. Our work includes assignments in higher education, health care, arts and culture, philanthropy, and professional associations. We help to shepherd committees through four stages of search: understanding the challenge; outreach; candidate evaluation; and negotiations.

Throughout the search we help to portray our client in the best possible light, guiding and advising the client when necessary on both strategic and tactical matters, in order to maximize the chances for a successful outcome.

Partial Search. NLG is able to offer clients partial services at various stages of a search in order to improve the chances of overall success. NLG often enters searches at "critical junctures" that include:

• Consulting on ways to expand and improve the sourcing pool
• Consulting on the crafting and positioning of the job description
• Training for committees on how to evaluate the administrative and interpersonal skills of candidates (beyond their academic or professional accomplishments)
• Training for committees on ways to work together more productively, when there are significantly differing opinions or evaluations of candidates
• Conducting in-depth references to "flesh out" the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate
